DESCRIPTION: This retail design is a boutique pet store designed by John Michael Sakoian Jr. in cooperation with Gary McKelvey, AIA out of Tahoe City, CA. This was the first pet store to be incorporated into Intrawest’s Village at Squaw Valley in Lake Tahoe, CA.
This Mixed-use development quickly gained international attention as one of the premier resorts in the U.S. and is a leading tourist attraction for the visitors of the Tahoe Basin. This project type requires the development of attractive and functional spaces that identify with both the client brand and the customer lifestyle. Being a collaborative architecture and interiors firm, these disciplines are well-integrated to achieve the goals common to this project type.
Retail and restaurant design is about connecting the customer experience and desired lifestyle with the brand identity. The organization and richness of the space is studied carefully to achieve these goals. These spaces need to ensure a safe and effective workflow for the staff while delivering an environment that is focussed on the customer experience.
